Vin Group's automotive division VinFast manufactures 3000 electric buses!
Vingroup, a conglomerate in Vietnam, will manufacture 3000 public transport buses as electric vehicles at VinFast, the automotive sector. It will be operated by VinBus, a non-profit company established as part of infrastructure development.
Vingroup's Vinbus will operate public transport buses in the five major cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Haiphong, Da Nang and Can Tho from March 2020.
Bimbus has a registered capital of approximately US $ 43 million and was established as a non-profit business with the aim of reducing pollution such as air and noise and building an eco-friendly public transportation network.
VinFast, a subsidiary of Vingroup, will supply electric vehicle-type public transportation buses to VinFast. VinFast will initially manufacture 3,000 electric buses.
VinFast is already building a new factory for the purpose of manufacturing electric buses. Technology and components will be supplied by Siemens, a major German manufacturer, and batteries for electric vehicles will be supplied by a joint venture between VinFast and LG Chem, a Korean company.
In November 2018, VinFast released three models: LUX A2.0 sedan, LUX SA2.0 SUV, and Fadil.
The launch of the bin bus is part of the next strategy of developing eco-friendly vehicles, including electric buses.
