Major international institutions have significantly lowered their growth forecasts for Vietnam this year. The World Bank predicts 4.9% growth, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) growth of only 2.7%. Vietnam&#039;s first quarter GDP growth dropped to 3.82% for the first time in 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Minister Hooke reported that although growth was slowing, it was higher than other countries in Southeast Asia (ASEAN). In the medium term, the growth rate is expected to remain at around 6.5% due to the current virtuous upward trend.
